The Infilling of the Holy Ghost

Beloved, imagine a car filled with fuel on the day you bought it, but never refilled again. That car will eventually stop, no matter how beautiful or powerful it is. Likewise, baptism in the Spirit is the initial filling, but God calls us to ongoing infilling.

The Greek in Ephesians 5:18 literally means: “Be being filled.” In other words, keep on being filled. The Spirit is not a one-time experience; He is a daily necessity.

Myles Munroe once said: “The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but life without purpose. And you cannot fulfill purpose without the Holy Spirit continually filling you.”
